I can’t tell you how honored I was , even more so to be truly enlightened as a male fly fisher, to host this awesome documentary podcast on the history and legacy of women in fly fishing with my super knowledgeable and talented guest: Jen Ripple The amount I learned about the journey and struggle for women to be recognized in what was historically a male dominated sport like fishing, was truly inspiring. The amazing amount of talented ladies was impressive: from the start of fly fishing in England in the 1490’s by Dame Juiliana; to Queens Victoria and Elizabeth and the royal family, to the Catskills and Joan Wulff; and now to all the modern day lady pioneers , was staggering in scope. I highly encourage all female and male fly fishing enthusiasts, and those ladies thinking about learning it, regardless of venue, to listen to this one. You will be truly in awe as I was from the female contributions to this passionate sport- Link below- enjoy!
