THE NEW MAYFLY/SPRING SILVER ISSUE IS HERE!

April 22, 2021 By Matthew Supinski

It’s finally out!…We at Hallowed Waters Journal, along with so many super awesome talented anglers, artists, scientists and just damn good humans, with the help of fish, bugs and the hallowed waters they live in make our new 258 page Mayfly/Spring Silver issue passionate journey of this issue our best yet!

Our encompassing content and sumptuous photography, which shares the spirit of why we fish and the depth of how we explore it, makes Hallowed Waters more than just another magazine. Ours is a passionate journal and each piece reads like a small book on the chase of the subject matter and challenge to take fly fishing and angling for Trout/Salmon/Steelhead to another level, one that has never been fully achieved before at this scope.

Our issue could not be complete without the so many talented angling craftsmen/ women that have given their energy and vibe, along with the natural world around us that beckons us to explore it on every level. Thus we give many thanks to so many awesome mayflies, small pelagic fish for streamers, spey and tubes;… some cool nymphs/ flies of realistic and artistic nature tied by super fly tying visionaries, along with the fauna and flora like wild mushrooms and salmon that makes the natural culinary foraging experience, along with some interesting spirits and libations reviewed and featured to take with you on your country sporting adventures.

But in hindsight with what’s out there on today’s media, we strive to give the reader more and feel we dont give enough attention in our craft to the science, historical journey, art/books, bamboo and contemporary rod making and so much more.

Yet it is in the 16 featured articles… and lest we forget, the attention is towards those magnificent wild creatures we love so much and which fuel our desire:  the trout, salmon and steelhead . This issue is for all of us celebrating hopefully a better life to come in 2021…one where we all need some love after the pandemic we have been through and which calls for soulful nourishment more than ever!.

In the next series of blogs, and a new Hallowed Waters podcast coming in May, we will feature all the key focus articles and columns, fly patterns, the close to 60 contributing talented anglers, fly tiers, scientists, historians, artists, photographers, chefs, rod making craftsmen and so much more, to fully expose you to what we are all about.
